The Berkeley Park District has some exciting news to share with you. We are pleased to announce that the Memorial Corner of Berkeley Park located at Taft and Electric Avenues has begun its long awaited renovation. We have completed our final stages of planning and are stepping into the demolition phase of construction. For safety sake, the eastern end of the park was officially closed on February 3, 2010 by Ordinance 02-10. Beginning mid- March 2010 our neighbors and patrons may note restricted access to the Memorial Corner with the installation of temporary fencing which will remain in place until construction is completed.

Although, the east end of Berkeley Park will be closed, many facilities will remain available and undisturbed to the public. For example, the Illinois Prairie Path will remain open as routed, and the parking lot will remain available for daily use, as well as the gazebo. All facilities and grounds west of the parking lot will be unaffected by the construction. Any concerns or questions that may arise during construction should be brought to the attention of the Berkeley Park District at 708-544-1935 and we will do our best to assist you.

The annual Memorial Day Parade will start at MacArthur School on May 31 at 10:00 AM and all are invited to celebrate the grand reopening and re-dedication of Berkeley's Memorial Corner in observance of the day!
