Animal Control
The Village of Berkeley has developed a wildlife trapping program for residents to trap and dispose of nuisance animals in the Village. If a resident finds it necessary to have a trap on their property, they must come to the Village Hall for assistance. The resident must make a deposit of $105.50 and sign a “Hold Harmless Indemnification and Reimbursement Agreement”. If an animal is trapped and needs to be removed, an additional deposit of $40.50 will be required for each trap. If any additional traps are necessary to be delivered to a residence, an additional deposit of $33.50 will be required for each additional trap.
ABC Wildlife will not trap dogs or large animals. This program is targeted toward animal control in the form of feral cats, skunks, opossums, raccoons or other small mammals. ABC Humane Wildlife Rescue will give instructions at the time of delivery of the traps to ensure that costs to the Village and residents are kept to a minimum.
Please be aware, if repairs are recommended by ABC to deter further infestations of nuisance animals (for instance repairing a hole in your roof), the cost of those repairs are not shared by the Village. You are under no obligation to contract with ABC for those repairs.
