Economic Development

In February 2010, the Village of Berkeley adopted a Comprehensive Plan to guide the future of the Village. This Plan was adopted with resident, business, and other stakeholder input and serves as a roadmap for the future. It provides a set of policies that can facilitate a coordinated approach to decisions regarding land use, transportation, economic development, community facilities, and environmental sustainability. It serves as a guide for elected and appointed officials within Berkeley as they consider new program initiatives or review development proposals before them. It also conveys the Village's development philosophy and intent to other communities and regional service providers.

The Comprehensive Plan incorporates the concepts of the St. Charles Road Corridor Plan adopted in 1999 and the St. Charles TIF Redevelopment Area Plan and Program adopted in 2000.
